Thankful

The girls and I went home to pick up Luke from my parent's house this weekend.  It was short but well needed visit.  My parents were supposed to bring him home but my Dad has a pinched nerve and has been in a lot of pain so he was unable to travel.  I think the hardest thing for Joey is not being there for my Dad.  He's always helped him with everything and vice versa.  I have to say I am very thankful for my brother in law.  He has stepped up and has been a life saver for us and my parents.  I'm very greatful that he's there to help my Dad out whenever needed.

Our last few visits home we've spent most of our time with family so this trip I took the time to go have lunch and a fun day of shopping with one of my most favorite and closest friends.  We've been neighbors and had worked together for the last several years.  It was also a day of celebration!  We have both been praying for an open door to get away from a very negative situation.  My door opened sooner and we were praying very hard that hers would soon open as well.  Well, she finally got the call last week and I will say not only did Jesus open the doors for us both, but we have both been given great opportunities for our families.  It's like a dream come true for us both.  God knew exactly what we both needed and exceeded our expections!

Last but not least a few pictures from our visit.....
Check out these silly manequins in Old Navy!

I have to say I'm thankful for road hazard on my tires! Yikes!  Yes, this crazy driver popped a tire on a culvert!  Never fails when I'm traveling alone!

Summer summer summertime!

There's a lot of joy up in this house this morning!  We didn't crawl out of bed until nearly 9:00 today.  Don't you love summer?

We're having a great summer!  Last week we visited the aquarium and got passes for the year.  The science nerd in me loves places like this.  The sprinkler park for the kids make it that much better too.  The kids loved it!  Especially Luci! She had a blast.

Luke's been with his grandparents for the last two weeks.  Well I say his grandparents but he's been all over.  I don't think he's ready to come home, but I've been away from him long enough and will be headed to pick him up Monday.  My parents had planned on bringing him home and staying with us a few days but my Dad is unable to travel due to pinched nerve in his back.  Pretty big bummer, so I'm going to stay a couple of day when I pick up Luke.  I can't wait to see him!

We looked at a house last week and nearly bought it.  We actually made an offer but thankfully the realtor didn't call us back!  Someone else beat our offer I guess.  It was a really nice home, had an inground pool and in a nice location, but honestly it just wasn't what we really wanted.  Patience is not my best quality!  I think God is really trying to bring me down a notch.  All of us cramped in this little house, sharing rooms, It's pretty humbling.  Some days I think I'm going to go crazy, but other days we're snuggled up in the living room watching movies together and I love every minute of it.

I know eventually we'll find a home and I've just decided to be patient and let God do whatever he has planned for us here.  When the right home or property comes available we'll know, and we'll be confident in our decision.

For the time being, we are enjoying each moment of each day!  I love having the kids home everyday for the summer.  There's so much fun to be had and so many memories to be made.  I love our big family!

Yes Monday

Yes it's Monday!  I'm so thankful to be waking up to this beauty!

Life is so good!  We had a nice weekend.  We finally got a grill!  I'm pretty excited about that.  It's been a long time since I've had a good piece of grilled chicken or juicy grilled pork chop! :)  It's the little things...

We finally got the kids playground put up yesterday. Now the hard part of re staining it begins!  I was just as excited to see it up as they were.  What an awesome gift from their amazing brother.  I'm planning on my grandchildren playing on that thing some day.  We've found a rainbow playground place in town and are ordering a personalized board to add to it.  We haven't decided what to put on it yet, but we want something that's a reminder of Colt every time they read it.

Luci and I had a great workout this morning.  Yes, Luci too.  I ran over two miles on the treadmill and she always gets on when I'm doing the cool down.  Today I did a core workout after my run and she is right there beside me on the mat trying to mimic everything I do.  It's pretty cute!

Trying to stay fit and workout is tough.  I've finally gotten back into the routine after the move.  I actually gained around 4 pounds after we got here, but I've lost two of those now.  I think it was all the tortillas and no workout!

I've actually been cooking a lot more and even trying a few things on pinterest.  I love pinterest, but looking at it sure makes me hungry!  There are so many good recipes on there!  I've started logging most of my meals on my fitness pal.  If you use the app feel free to follow me! My username is clcrow.  My food diary is open to all my friends so you can see what all I eat. :)  It's easier to hold each other accountable that way.

This week is the last week of school!  We are so excited!  We're getting summer passes to the aquarium, planning on several trips to the beach, bowling, and just exploring all the new things to see.  Sea World is also pretty close so we may visit there a few times this summer.

We're still on the hunt for a house.  I'm still working on being patient and content so I don't jump into anything I'm not happy with.  We still may end up building if we don't find something soon.  My goal is to be in a house by Christmas or building.

It's time to get my girl some lunch!  Thanks for stopping by the blog!  Enjoy some photos!

My little speed racer Jolea kicked some booty at track and field day.

Luke also did great getting a 3rd place ribbon in his race.  He reminds me of his Daddy when he runs. :)

My handsome man after a hard days work. :)
