Baby Shower and Pumpkin Carving

This weekend some of my friends and family threw a baby shower for Miss Luci.  Everything turned out absolutely perfect!  Luci and I received so many nice things.  It's nice going into her room now and seeing all the baby gear and clothes sitting around.  I can't wait until she gets here!

After the shower was over we went over to my sisters house for my nephews 23rd (I think) birthday party.  He decided for his birthday that he wanted to have our families over for burgers and pumpkin carving.  The kids had a blast!

Is it December yet?

I have a little over two months until Luci gets here!  Am I ready?  Physically....oh yes!  I do have a few things I'm needing before she gets here though.  My shower is this weekend so all should be good after that!  I did finally get her furniture and ended up going with white instead of black.  I have a lot of black furniture in the house and it tends to show dust so easy.  That's pretty much why I opted out of the black.  The white will show less.  I'll post some pictures as soon as I get her bedding put in it.  I'm loving her bedding!  It is the cutest.  My Mother did an amazing job, and I can't wait to show it off!  She's also made several things for Luci and I can't wait to see it all this weekend!

The third trimester aches and pains have kicked my tail this week.  The last three nights I've gotten little sleep.  I have some really bad leg cramps and cramps in my hips.  It's actually pretty painful.  Luci is definitely growing and takes up pretty much all the room.  She moves so much, and it's crazy, but it actually wakes me up at night.  I don't really remember  my others moving so much that they woke me up.  Luci also gets very startled by her Daddy's voice.  It's his fault though.  He actually talks to her (really loud) and it scares her I think.  If you know Joey, you know what I'm talking about.  He tends to get a kick out of it!  He will get her kicking so hard!  It cracks us both up.  Hopefully she'll be used to his silliness before she's born!

I'm low on photos to post so here's one of Brea and her "boy" friend.  She went to a dance with him this last weekend.  He is one of the sweetest boys I know.  He even brought her roses when they picked her up!  He's so great to her, and our family loves him!

He's 9 years old.

He turned 9 years old today.  It's actually a little hard to fathom.  I can't believe nearly 6 years have gone by without him.  What will we do today?  I could actually crawl into my bed and stay there all day, and maybe sip on some cappucino.  Instead we'll do something to honor him.  We'll embrace today.  We'll plan something very special to celebrate his life.  It makes me sad to know that Luke and Jolea never really got the chance to know him.  Luke had 8 short months with him, but by doing things like this to honor Colt and remember, we instill in them the significance of his life and show what an important part of our family he was and is.

Happy birthday JoJo!  Today we celebrate what an amazing little boy you were, what an amazing little brother, and big brother you were.  We celebrate how funny and silly you always were, and rejoice in knowing that you knew the Lord and are with Him now!  We love you and hope you are enjoying your 9th birthday in heaven!

28 weeks, and a temporary farewell

Today I went in for my 28 week appointment.  Everything went great!  My blood pressure was actually normal today!  I had gained another two pounds, which brings the total up to 14.  I did fail my glucose tolerance test that I did last week so today he told me the plan.  I'm going to be on an 1800 calorie diet, and will be checking blood sugars before and after meals until Luci is born.  Not what I would like to be doing, but considering it's the best for Miss Luci I'm all for it!  Thanksgiving and Christmas will be pretty tough, but it's only food. ;)  He told me what my blood sugar should be before and after meals, and by looking at what they've been lately, there are several things are having to be cut out of my diet.  Definitely no more of those double hot fudge brownie sundaes from Braums, so farewell my friend.  I'll see you again in about 3 months!

10-10-10

Today was a very productive day!  We finally moved all of Jolea's things upstairs to her new room.  So Luci officially has a room now!  It is empty, but at least she has one!  I'm hoping to get her furniture ordered this week.  I can't decide between black or white.  I was going with black, but after looking around, I'm kind of leaning towards the white now.  We'll see!

Luke woke Joey and I up yesterday morning about 5am throwing up, and continued to throw up the majority of the day yesterday.  If he wasn't throwing up, he was crying with a headache.  I had never seen him so restless and whiney.  Finally, around 1:00, I was at my wits end and almost in tears myself.  I turned off all the phones and TVs, and took him into my room, lights out, and was able to get him to go to sleep.  He slept until almost 4:00!    When he woke up he was feeling so much better, and is finally back to his normal self today.  He even cleaned his room today which is amazing if you know Luke!

On a pregnancy note, I failed my glucose tolerance test!!  Since then, I've been checking my blood sugar several times a day.  It hasn't gone up too high anymore, but I did have a low today. I knew it was low before I checked it because I had broke out in a sweat, got that "faint" feeling, and actually got sick.  When I checked it, it was low, so I ate something sweet :)  My next Dr. visit is Tuesday, so we'll see what he says about these blood sugars!

My Sweet Luke :)

Our Happenings!

We've had a lot going on lately and my blog updates have been scarce so I'm going to try and cover everything in this one post.  I'll try to keep it short and sweet! :)  Volleyball and Football are in full swing.  Brea is somewhere every night of the week.  For this reason, and the fact that we have a baby on the way, we have decided to take the fall off from softball.  Her team was very understanding and we hope to be able to go back to playing in the spring.  Brea also had her first school dance of the year, and her uncle Chad was able to provide a limo.  I've never seen so many excited kids.  They loved it!

Luke and Joey left Friday and went to their deer lease for the weekend.  Luke loves to hunt, so he is very excited that opening weekend is just a month away.  He is so much like his brother in this way.  Colt was all about some deer hunting, and Luke definitely inherited that love.  Luke has no interest in anything right now other than deer hunting.  I'm hoping he'll pick up at least a love for baseball or something. ;)  Who knows though right.  His Daddy was never into sports either.  Both he and Jolea are doing great in school.  I get compliments from both of their teachers nearly every week, and that makes me smile ear to ear.  Jolea had such a rough year last year, but she is just blooming this year.  She has matured so much and is doing great.

I start my 28th week this week, so hello 3rd trimester!! I'm so ready to meet this baby girl.  The last two months have not been near as bad as the first five.  I do have some energy back and the sickness is mostly gone, other than a few weak moments here and there.  The leg cramps have showed up, along with increasing heartburn, back pain, and well...constipation.  I know tmi, but dang it's horrible!  I've still only gained around 12 pounds.  Swelling isn't too bad either, and I'm hoping it stays that way.  Luci does move all the time!  Actually last night she had a wake period starting around 2am, and it lasted over an hour.  I didn't get much sleep the entire time!  She is just all over the place, and at times it can even get pretty painful.  The kicks aren't just limited to a bump here and there.  When she moves, the whole stomach moves!

We are getting the house ready around here.  The remodel is done and all thats left is moving Jolea's bed and clothes.  I've just been lazy and haven't done it yet.  I have a baby shower coming up this month and my goal is to have her furniture and everything in there before the shower so I can show off her bedding that my mother made!  The shower is the 24th so time is ticking, and I better get busy.  A friend of mine and our girls went to target and babies r us to register, and let me just say it was quite overwhelming.  They just didn't have all this stuff 7 years ago!!  It was a blast though!

Ok, so not too short.  I'll quit the rambling and post some pictures!
