First Day of School

The kids and I had a great first day of school!  Jolea and Luke could not have gotten there fast enough!  They both have awesome teachers this year as well.  Although honestly at our school, all the teachers are awesome!! I really don't have to worry year to year who their teachers will be.  They are all that amazing!  I was able to quickly snap a quick photo of them as we were walking out the door that morning.  So, there was no time for posing, camera adjusting or anything!  We were in a hurry!

With school comes busy, busy weeks.  Breanna is involved in everything!  I wonder if it's too much sometimes.  She is playing tournament softball, had volleyball tryouts today (we'll know if she makes the team tomorrow), is a cheerleader, tumbles, and loves to be very involved in church.  She recently moved up into the youth group, and she absolutely loves it! She also plans on playing basketball, running track, and cross country when those sports roll around.  She keeps us busy!  As for Luke, he is counting down the days until deer season.   He is ready to go hunting, and has also decided that he now wants to duck hunt.  So we'll see how that goes.  Speaking of hunting, my husband decided to buy me a gun this year to hunt with.  Seriously, can you see me 8 to 9 months pregnant, in the deer stand with my rifle??  That is a funny thought!!  I will get a picture of me with my rifle really soon.

A new doctor.....

I found out last week that my doctor is taking a sudden, early retirement due to a family illness. :( Out of respect for their privacy, that's all I'm gonna mention about it at this time.  Needless to say, I was a total wreck last week when I found out!  I have been seeing him for the past 10 years, and he also delivered Colt and Luke.  I worked for him for 5 years until Colt was diagnosed with cancer, and he is just an amazing man.  I will truely miss him.  Thankfully, I was able to bump up my appointment so I could see him one more time.  When I went in my blood pressure was a little high, and we got a kick out of that.  It was only because of the situation.  He did one more sonogram and told me I was having a beautiful baby girl.  He was just so sincere!  Gosh, I am going to miss him!! We discussed the options, and both agreed that I will see a new doctor that will be joining their office in September.  I can't imagine not going to that office.  I love the ladies there, and I wouldn't deliver anywhere else than in our local hospital.  They have a GREAT maternity center.  I left feeling very reassured, and much calmer than when I came in.

On a happier note, the house is officially under construction!  We have started on Brea's new room and bathroom upstairs.  The rooms are now framed and sheetrocked.  I'll post some pictures soon! We should be completely finished within two weeks, and then we will begin to move everyone to their new rooms and I can get started on the nursery downstairs!!  My mother and the other ladies have started on the bedding and it's coming along beautiful!  As soon as the rooms are ready I'm going to order her furniture.  I have it all picked out, and we are going with black.  I love it!  Another friend of my Moms' is making her a gorgeous vintage dress to bring her home in, complete with a bonnet and booties.  I just love the old, vintage dresses and would of begged her for one, but she gladly agreed to do it for me!

I'm really expecting her to be here at the end of December, so with about 4 months left we are finally getting it together!  Time is going by so fast, and I am soaking up every kick and squirm.  Knowing she's in there growing, kicking, and sucking her sweet little thumb just makes my heart smile.  She is just a sweet, little miracle, and I can't wait to hold her in my arms!

Lake fun and Brea's first softball tournament

I've been so behind on blogging and picture taking lately.  I was so sick and it has been so hot this summer, I rarely had my camera out!  Joey bought a boat a little over a month ago and we are loving it.  I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I do.  The kids love to ride the tube, and Joey and I enjoy watching them.  Its pretty funny!

Brea also had her first softball tournament last weekend.  This was their first tournament they played together, and they took 4th place.  They did really good.  She played 5 games on Saturday. We were there from 8:00am until about 9:00pm.  Not to mention it was 104 degrees!  I actually survived it too!  I did lose the ankles, but they returned a few days later.  The we got up and she played 3 more games on Sunday!!  It was a long exhausting weekend!

Not your typical family....

Things are steadily moving along with the pregnancy.  I'm in my 19th week now!  We found out last week we were having a sweet baby girl, and we could not be more excited!  My doctor visit went very smoothly, and I still haven't gained weight so I'm excited about that too!  My sickness is starting to ease up some, and my appetite is getting bigger so I'm a little worried about the next weigh in. :)  I've started noticing some slight swelling after I've been on my feet alot or out in the heat, but it isn't too bad.  On a funny note... I was in the tub the other night and noticed what I thought to be a varicose vein near my ankle.  I freaked out!! Thankfully, it has disappeared!!!  I have gone out and bought a couple of belly bands to support my growing belly.  The heaviness of it makes my back hurt some, and wearing those support bands help tremendously.

Tomorrow, Joey and I will celebrate our 14th anniversary!  It has been 14 amazing years!!  Not to say, we haven't had our rough moments because we have, but our love for each other is amazingly stronger than ever and it only gets better every year.  We have been through the births of 3 children, battled cancer alongside our precious Colt, traveled to Vietnam to adopt our sweet Jolea, and now here we are getting ready to have our 5th child!  I wouldn't call us your "typical" family, but we are the family that God has called us to be. We are certainly confident in our ability to thrive as a family of 5, including Colt (we never leave him out!).  And who knows if we'll stop here.  I never say never!  We'll see what God has in store for us next!  So stayed tuned, things are certainly going to be hopping around the Crow house!
