The Princess's Birthday

This year, once again, we celebrated Jolea's birthday at chuck e cheese.  I would've liked to have done something different this year, but it was her choice.  She had a blast!  She laughed, giggled, and danced all night long.  This was the first year we let her invite a couple of her friends from school.  We have a huge family with a lot of kids so usually it is just family, but now alot of the kids are getting so big.  I guess coming to a 6 year old little girls party isn't so much fun anymore.  We had alot of fun though!  Just seeing the joy and excitement on Jolea's face is priceless.  Here are a few pictures from the party.  Enjoy!
Jolea's cake was the cutest!  She "loved" it!

This is our little niece.  She is a dancing queen!  She really danced all night long!

Jolea loved Chucke!  I'm thankful she wasn't scared of him.  Brea was scared of him until she was 8 years old!

What a great weekend!

What a great weekend!  Saturday the girls and I got up and went shopping.  We had so much fun!  Jolea has a birthday coming up this weekend so she got some cute outfits and new shoes!  Saturday evening Brea had a basketball game.  They won 18 to 8!  Brea ended up fouling out pretty early in the game.  We are definitely going to have to work on that defense!  Today, the little ones and I stayed home all day.  I didn't sleep well last night so I slept in this morning.  Brea and Joey had softball practice.  Tonight I made the greatest chicken spaghetti!  It was a recipe from the Pioneer Woman, and it was devine!  Everyone loved it except for my picky eater...Luke.  I'm hoping one of these days he'll be convinced that I really can cook good food! :)  Here are a few photos of the kids tonight after baths!

Random photos.....my love of photography!

Most of you know my love of photography.   I love taking pictures of my kids.  I have several programs on my computer for photo editing, but my favorite is lightroom.  Adobe let me have a free trial of the new lightroom 3 program and it is awesome.  Here are just a few of the photos I've been playing around with.

This first one I just used a Lr preset called direct positive, and I tweeked the exposure and clarity some.  I love the urban looking photos the best with the vibrant colors.

On this one I used the aged photo preset and again tweaked the exposure, clarity, and a few other things.  Too cute!

And this one....I am so picky about black and whites.  To me they are the hardest to edit.  I don't like gray faces.  I like my faces to be bright and white!

This one I used the aged photo preset.

This is one of my favorie photos of Luke.  I love his eyes.  I made this one b/w and tweaked the hue which made the eyes so clear you can see my reflection in them.

Wild Night!

Bedtime is always the wildest time around my house.  The closer it gets to 9:00 the rowdier (is that a word?) everyone gets! Including Joey!  You should've heard the screams and laughter coming from the living room while I was showering tonight.  It was crazy!  My kids were so wild!  Now, that everyone is in bed I can post a few pictures.  Here are some of the little ones right before bedtime.  They were playing ball with Coleman!  He is the new entertainment around the house lately.  Believe it or not he is quite the entertainer! :)

Luke just loves him!

And.....drum roll.....my new purse is finally here!  Straight from Disney World!  Dooney and Bourke teamed up with Disney and came out with two new Disney designed purses!  This was my favorite and I got it in the mail today!  These can only be purchased at Disney World!  It is so stinkin cute!

Day off!!!

What a nice relaxing day today!  The kids and I were out of school today for MLK Day!  I think I could do this everyday, in fact there are times when I really miss being a SAHM.  Honestly though, I couldn't ask for a better job.  I love the people I work with, and my kids are there.  What more could you ask for?  Jolea, Luke, and I hung out at home all day today! I didn't even get out of my PJs until this afternoon.  It was so nice to do nothing.  The kids were busy all day with playing the playstation, making snowflakes, playing outside.  Poor Brea had to get up and go to softball practice this morning at 10:00!  Yes, it's almost that time again.  We should have our first tournament sometime in March.  She's moving up into the 12U age bracket this year.  That means much more competition!  She loves it though, and can't wait for games to start.

Well, my camera battery went dead today, and all I have is one picture for this post.  This picture cracks me up!  It is of Luke and Coleman.  Coleman just sits in Lukes lap and watches him play his DS game.  These two are buddies!  Check him out!

Thankful for the warmer temperatures!

What an amazing day!  I'm so glad to finally have some warmer temperatures.  I'm so ready for the spring!  My kids have been sleeping in the living room by the fire since last Thursday when the very cold front came through.  I'm thinking maybe tonight they can go back into their rooms.  We've been trying to heat the house with our fireplace to save some money on the electric bill which in turn makes the bedrooms colder.  We have just kept their doors closed and let them sleep in the living room where it is more than warm enough.  They have really enjoyed it too, and tonight could turn into a fight trying to get them back to their rooms.  Here is a picture of the kids campout in the living room!

Bowling and Basketball

Friday night Joey and I braved it and took Brea and 4 of her friends out to eat and bowling.  We hadn't really planned anything for Brea's birthday so last minute she decided just to go eat.  They were so silly.  They voted and decided they wanted to eat at a Japanese steakhouse called Kyotos.  Joey and I pretty much just laughed and rolled our eyes for the majority of the dinner!  I think I just saw a glimplse of what the teenage years are going to be like!  Brea does have a really great group of friends that she hangs around.  I don't think I could ask for a better group of girls than these!  After dinner we took them bowling.  The pictures speak for themselves so here they are!

This is Brea's birthday cake!  Is it not the cutest?  I ordered this from Leann Patterson.  She makes some amazing cakes!  If you want to order one let me know and I'll hook you up!

Here they are bargaining for a free hour of bowling......Kelsi had to knock down five pins and she did it!

hmm....don't ask. :)

Saturday Brea had her first basketball game.  Her team won 17 to 12.  This was their first game and they did really, really well!

This is part of the team.  I think a couple were not there yet when I took this one.
