Little Getaway

Thursday we took the kids and headed to Joey's deer lease for a little camping trip. The Colorado river runs through Joey's lease so we thought it would be fun to go and do a little fishing and riding 4-wheelers. This last weekend was our only free weekend before we leave for vacation. The kids had a wonderful time! They love staying in the camper. It could be in the backyard though and they would still love it. Every night we would sit outside and look at the stars. It was so beautiful! I have never seen that many stars in all my life. You just don't get to see them like that around here because of all the lights. We even saw a few falling stars. It was awesome. We ended up actually having to cut the weekend trip a little short and come home Saturday. Friday evening Luke started running a fever. As long as I kept him on Motrin he felt fine, but I didn't think being out in the heat all day would be a good idea so we went ahead and packed up and headed home Saturday morning right as a nasty thunderstorm started moving in. We had promised Luke that we would roast marshmellows on Saturday night and he was very upset because we were leaving the lease, so Saturday evening at home we built a little campfire in the backyard and let the kids roast their marshmellows. They loved it! Of course, Luke wouldn't eat any of them....he said he didn't like burnt marshmellows. He just wanted to play in the fire.

Luke is much better now. I took him to the Dr. on Monday and he just had a virus and swimmers ear. A little rest at home and he is fine.

Our trip to Disney is getting closer and closer. I probably should start getting things together. Joey and I were laying in bed last night and we were talking about Disney. I can't wait to walk into the Magic Kingdom and hear the music, and the smell of the Main Street bakery just brings back so many great memories. The atmosphere there is just magical. There is no other place like it. I think I cry when I get there and then cry when I leave! This year will be our longest stay. We are staying 8 days at the Polynesian resort. The Polynesian has a Hawaiian theme, and the monorail runs through there so I figured that it would best suit my parents. I think they are going to have a great time! We have some awesome things planned for them so that their trip will be amazing!
