Photos

Brea was hit in leg with this pitch, thankfully not the same leg as the last time!

The ball is actually in the glove!

She was SAFE!

This is Brea stealing to 2nd.

I got a new camera for Christmas this year and I'm loving it. It is a Nikon, and it takes awesome photos. I also have been saving some money and recently bought me a new laptop and photoshop elements. Here are a few photos that I've taken and also some that I have edited. One thing I love is that I can erase the wrinkles!

Happy Easter!

Easter was really low key for us this year. There was not a lot of rushing around. The pictures are actually from Saturday. We spent the day Saturday at a softball tournament in Garland. Brea's first game was at 7:00 am. Whew, I know, way too early for a Saturday. She played some great games. She did come home completely exhausted and beat up. She was hit in the thigh by a line drive, which left a very deep bruise in her muscle, and also a strawberry on her other thigh because she forgot to wear her sliders. Bless her heart. After the game we went to my parents and had our Easter dinner. We did this to beat the rain so the kids could hunt eggs. We had a great time, but were all just completely exhausted from getting up so early.

On Easter Sunday we all got up, had breakfast, and headed to church looking our bests. The service was awesome like always. I had woke up with a slight headache that morning, but by the end of the church service I had a full blown migraine. The worst I've ever had. I actually fell asleep in Joey's lap on the way home from church, and then came home and slept the rest of the afternoon. I woke up feeling pretty good, and to a very peaceful and clean house. Joey had kept the kids so quiet and also had cleaned up the house. He's just the greatest! He had fed the kids an awesome KFC Easter lunch as well. We spent the rest of the evening just relaxing.

I bought Jolea and Luke the Jesus storybook bible for Christmas this past year, and I absolutely love how the stories of the bible are written in this book. The stories are just beautiful. I wanted to add part of the story of the crucifixion. When I read this to them it literally just blew me away.

They nailed Jesus to the cross.
"Father, forgive them, " Jesus gasped. "They don't understand what they are doing."
"You say you have come to rescue us!" people shouted. "But you can't even rescue yourself!"
But they were wrong. Jesus could have rescued himself. A legion of angels would have flown to his side-if he'd called.
"If you were really the Son of God, you could just climb down off that cross!" they said.
And of course they were right. Jesus could have just climbed down. Actually, he could have just said a word and made it all stop. Like when he healed the little girl. And stilled the storm. And fed 5000 people.
But Jesus stayed.
You see, they didn't understand. It wasn't the nails that kept Jesus there.
It was love.

The story continued on through the resurrection, and you can guess the many questions Luke and Jolea have asked. The faith of children is just so amazing. They were just in awe that Jesus loved us so much that he endured such a horrible death for them, and their love and faith in him is just unwavering. If we could only have that same understanding and faith.

Luke's Birthday Party

We had Luke a small birthday party last night at our house. Well, I say small, but if you know our families you know it's not all that small. He had a wonderful time playing with all of his cousins. He is so excited to be 5 years old! Enjoy the pictures!
