Breanna started back to school today. She is in the 4th grade this year. It was a pretty rough morning trying to get everyone up early and dressed. After dropping Brea off; Jolea, Luke and I went to get breakfast. It was actually a pretty peaceful day. Luke and Jolea played good together with Breanna not in the mix, but they were so excited to see her after school. Tomorrow is the big day when Jolea and Luke go to their school for the first time. I'll post tomorrow and let you know how it went. Also, Jolea's princess party was a blast. A friend of ours took pictures, and as soon we get the photos I'll post some. Here are some random pics of the kids.
One month ago, on my 3oth birthday, we met Jolea for the first time. It is really hard to believe that it has been a month already. She is doing great, and adjusting well. Her night terrors at night are getting better. We actually haven't had any the last 3 nights. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get any sleep at night. She would wake us up sometimes 4 or 5 times at night just screaming and kicking like she was fighting someone in her sleep. I could usually calm her down but she really was never awake. She is finally sleeping in her bed instead of the floor, and Breanna has moved back into her room. Breanna slept with Jolea in the floor for the first few weeks home. What a great big sister! But she wasn't getting much sleep with the night terrors so I finally made her go back to her room. Pray that these night terrors are gone for good! My friends are throwing a Jolea a welcome home party on Friday night. The theme is a Royal Celebration. All the kids are dressing up like prince and princesses. I bought Jolea a beautiful little princess dress for her debut! All the details of the party are being kept a secret from us so I'm very excited to see what our friends have put together. I have also enrolled Jolea and Luke into a little preschool. They will only be going 2 days a week, and the school is right down the street from our shop, so I will be there if they need me. I'm a little nervous about leaving them both, but I really think it will be great for both of them, and they will be in the same class together. I think it will be harder on me than on them. I'll let you all know how it goes next week. Luke is very excited about it. I took some paperwork by there last week and he cried when we left because he wanted to stay. I told him we had to go get his backpack first, and he said he wanted to go get it right now. I hope he stays that excited about going.
Jolea is such a perfect fit in our family. We are so thankful that God gave her to us. She is so full of energy. She is far from the shy girl that we were told she was. Maybe Mai was shy, but Jolea isn't! Her english is coming along very slowly. She has learned to say thank you, and says it often. She says no, yes, and Ma, but that is about it. She does seem to understand a lot more of what we tell her. She eats just about anything you put in front of her, and mealtime is sacrad to her. She sits at the table until she is finished and then she takes her plate to the trash. She finally loves playing in the pool, and is such a little fish. She jumps in and goes underwater and comes up laughing. She should be swimming on her own by next summer. She doesn't like the dogs yet, but she is getting better. She will actually pet the yorkie as long as she doesn't move. I have to say that she is the most appreciative little girl I have ever seen. I only wish my other two appreciated things like she does. Everyday when she gets dressed she has to look at herself in the mirror, and loves what she sees. Even getting a simple peppermint lights up her eyes. She's amazing! She and Luke are getting along a little better. They still fight over toys but what brother and sister don't. I think they'll be a little better when Brea goes back to school. Brea still absolutely adores her and carries her everywhere, and Jolea loves every minute of it.
We all made it home to Texas Wed. morning around 5am. I can't tell you how happy we were to be home. I missed my children so much. I have to say the flight home was terrible. Jolea cried most of the trip. She did not like having to sit in her seat and put the seat belt on. Then when we arrived in LA we had no ticket for Jolea for our flight to DFW. Someone had torn her ticket off at one of the airports. Also, when cathay pacific changed our flight from Friday to Tuesday, they didn't book us a flight from LA to Dallas. So, we had no ticket for Jolea and no flight booked to get home. We were so exhausted and frustrated that Joey decided he was just going to buy more tickets. When he went to the AA counter, byt the grace of God, she was able to help us, and got us on the next flight out which was leaving in 20 minutes without having to buy anymore tickets. When we arrived at the airport in Dallas we had a very unexpected crowd waiting for us in baggage claim. I couldn't believe everyone was up so early to meet us. My sister took pictures so as soon as she sends them to me I'll post some photos.
Vacation bible school was going on at our church this week so we went to that this week. Jolea really loves her big sister, and Breanna couldn't wait to show her off to everyone. The first night Randall brought Jolea up in front of everyone on the stage and everyone prayed over her. She loved it and was such a ham. She was making faces at all the kids. Last night they had fun night with bounce houses. Jolea got inside and really had no idea what to do but she had a blast. She pretty much just rolled around inside. I tried to get her to jump but she had more fun rolling around. Now for some photos!
